SO, WHY THE NAME CHANGE? When we bought Farmington Bakery in 1998, our goal had actually been to start up our own whole grain bakery. But in finding Farmington Bakery, we loved the variety of baked goods that it already offered, the potential for us to expand that line and, just as important, that it was in a downtown where we could become part of a community. While we still offer a large variety of delicious baked goods, and our family is part of a great community here, we’ve never seemed to be able to draw in many customers for the unique and whole grain baked goods that we’ve proudly made over the years. Now, almost a decade later, we realized that to do what we originally set out to, the best route may actually be to change the name and look of Farmington Bakery. Thus, this summer, Sunflour Bakehaus was born. And with the help of some really talented neighbors - local graphic artist John Martin and Visibles marketing guy Brian Lebovitz - not to mention our family and friends who’ve tirelessly lent their time, energy and feedback, here we are! We’re proud to continue to provide our community with the baked goods you’ve come to know and love at Farmington Bakery while introducing many new and interesting - not to mention a bit healthier - breads and treats as we work our way through this new venture. As always, we wouldn’t be here without our customers. So thank you - and enjoy! - Becky & Jeff |
